ABOUT US

Since 30 years the Stadtcafé has been a special place with flair in the heart of Munich, which is visited by locals and tourists. You can have a breakfast in a relaxed atmosphere or enjoy our daily changing menu under the trees of the Marstallhof for lunch. On our sunny terrace with a view over the Sankt-Jakobs-Platz Jakob we serve you coffee and cake or homemade iced tea and iced coffee. After a cinema evening in the Film Museum you can let the day end with a glass of wine and delicious snacks.

We are looking forward for your visit!

Gerhard Knoller & the Stadtcafé-Team

  • 1983

The artist Hans-Georg Schultz – alias Brum – opens the Brum in the wing of the Munich City Museum facing Sankt-Jakobs-Platz as a museum café and trendy meeting place for artists and filmmakers.

  • 1988

The economic collective of landlords of the small theatre pub Tagöll in the Hans-Sachs-Straße takes over the restaurant. It is reopened as the city café after extensive renovation work.

  • 2018

After the generation change, the Stadtcafé is headed by the new management since 1 September 2018.
